QULIN, MO (KFVS) - As the end of the school year is approaching, it is time for prom in a lot of Heartland communities.

You can send us your prom pictures to cNews@kfvs12.com or click here to upload them. Don't forget to include your name, where you're from and what school you go to. Pictures will be used online in the slideshow and possibly on-air.

"Only flower" in Afghanistan

ESSEX, MO (KFVS) - Essex native SFC Robert Myers sent us this picture for our Spring flowers 2012 slideshow.

Myers says he searched and searched and this is the only flower he has been able to find in Afghanistan. He said, "Looks like a weed but hey, it's a flower."

He says he can repost some more when he gets back state-side at the end of the month and getting back to color instead of rocks will be a welcomed change for sure.

American Red Cross asks you to share your favorite memory

(KFVS) - In honor of March being Red Cross Month, the American Red Cross is asking you to share your favorite Red Cross memory.

All month long, they will be looking for special, personal stories of hope. You can tell them what it was like to volunteer or why it's meaningful to you to give when disaster strikes.

The Red Cross says whether you’ve donated in the aftermath of a disaster, given blood, taken a class or received help in an emergency, everyone’s got a story to share – one that could inspire others to make a difference, too.
