9 jobs to be filled at Stoddard County juvenile facility | News

STODDARD COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Some old jobs are coming back to Stoddard and Mississippi counties.

They're state jobs at regional juvenile facilities.

The positions became open more than 10 years ago, when the state of Missouri took over a number of facilities.

The state closed many of those places and laid off a number of employees.

Now, the state has saved up enough cash, so they're starting to hire for those positions again.

"Judy and I met with the commissioners this morning and asked them to please allow us to change our request to include the state positions that are being put in and which would relieve the county their obligation for personnel," said Michael Davis, chief juvenile officer in Stoddard County.

Stoddard County plans to fill nine positions at juvenile facilities.

Mississippi County plans to fill three.
