Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield holds Veterans Day program | News
BLOOMFIELD, MO (KFVS)- The Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield held a Veterans Day Program Sunday afternoon.
The program will began at 1 p.m. at the Committal Shelter Plaza in the cemetery.
Family and friends of those interred as well as the general public were invited to attend.
Since opening on Sept. 29, 2003, the cemetery has conducted over 1,500 interments.
The cemetery has an approximate capacity of 27,000 grave sites.
The cemetery is located on 65 acres of the historically significant and scenic Crowley's Ridge in Stoddard County.
According to Missouri's Veterans Commission, the state of Missouri honors its citizens whom have paid the ultimate price in the defense of this country. These servicemen and servicewomen are from Missouri, based on their "Home of Record" at the time of their death.
