2 arrested after break-in at Bernie business | News
BERNIE, MO (KFVS)- The Bernie police chief says officers have arrested two people in connection with a burglary at the Farmhand Supply Company.
Marcrease Delance Farmer, 27, of Malden and Steven W. Ketchum, 21, of Malden have been charged with burglary second degree bond has been set at $25,000 cash only through the Stoddard County Prosecutors Office.
Malden Police have charged the two with receiving stolen property through the Dunklin County Prosecutors office, bond was set at $30,000 cash only.
Farmer is being held at the Bernie Police Department Ketchum is being held at the Malden Police department.
The general manager of the Farmland Supply Store says burglars got away with three shopping carts full of money and merchandise early Wednesday.
The total value to property stolen equals $18,000, according to authorities. The majority of the cash and items stolen have been recovered.
The suspects cut through the gate behind the store and spent about three hours inside.
The manager says they made off with guns, ammo, tools and odd things like oil and light bulbs.
Bernie Police Chief Justin Allen says there have been some other break-ins that have taken place in the surrounding area and he believes these people may be involved in those also.
