Ameren Mo. to hold public meeting on potential rate increase
News

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS)- Ameren Missouri recently announced they would like to raise electric rates.

The proposed increase would be about 14%. That's an estimated $14 or so a month per household.

There will be several public comment hearings held over the next month.

The first one in the Heartland will be on Tuesday, August 21 in Cape Girardeau.

Another meeting is scheduled in Dexter at the Bootheel Regional Planning Commission's (old armory) meeting room on August 21 at 6 p.m.

The company says it wants to raise rates because of the increasing cost of fuel.
