Stoddard Co. Ambulance Dist. to conduct 27th annual 'Home for the Holidays' Dec. 24-25 | Community Spirit
STODDARD COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - The Stoddard County Ambulance District will be host their 27th annual "Home for the Holidays" project December 25 and December 25.
The ambulance district says they will be taking patients that are unable to travel except by ambulance from the nursing homes of Stoddard County to homes within the county. This service is available to any patient that is not ambulatory that would like to spend some time with their family during the Christmas Holiday.
The patients will be taken "Home for the Holiday" on Dec. 25 and 25. After the visit, the ambulance district says they will take the patient back to the appropriate nursing facility. They say they will be allowed to stay as long as they wish on their home visit. It can be just a few hours or even over night.
“The holiday season is a time that families should be together and we understand that due to physical limitations this can be impossible for some," said Stoddard County Ambulance District Manager David Cooper. “It’s our gift to the community and we enjoy providing this service.”
There will be no charge to the patient or their family for this service. Anyone interested in this program should contact the activity director/social worker at the patient’s nursing home. All arrangements should be made through the appropriate nursing home, which will then contact our ambulance office to set up the schedule.
