Stoddard County Fair kicks off Tuesday | Community Spirit

DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - The Stoddard County Fair will be September 18 through 22 at the Stoddard County Fairgrounds.

The Fair will kick off with a parade that consists of hundreds of floats and thousands of people lining the streets. Afterwards, the fair grounds open.

This year, organizers anticipate around 14,000 to 15,000 people to attend. They say five years ago, they had around 7,000.

Organizers say the Fair will have a new grandstand and bigger bathroom facilities this year to accomodate the requests from the people. All concerts are free, except for the demo derby event Wednesday night. Also on the Fourth of July, Dexter could not participate in shooting off fireworks. The Fair has purchased the city's fireworks and plan on having a firework display on the last day of the fair on Saturday.

Tuesday, Sept. 18

• Parade, downtown Dexter at 5:30 p.m.
• Queen's Contest at Arena B, directly after parade
• Chicken-Catching and Youth Games at Arena A, directly after parade
• Robinson Chainsaw Wood Carvers and Puppet Show at 7 p.m.
• Magic Mike at 7 p.m.
• Chris Welch Band Amphitheater at 8 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 19

• Sheep and goats judging at 6 p.m.
• Church services, amphitheater at 6 p.m.
• Walker Brothers (Gospel and Country), Midway at 7 p.m.
• Robinson Chainsaw Wood Carvers and Puppet Show at 7 p.m.
• Magic Mike at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 20

• Cattle, hogs and equine judging, Arena at 6 p.m.
• Robinson Chainsaw Wood Carvers and puppet show at 7 p.m.
• Magic Mike
• FFA Tractor Rodeo at 8 p.m. in Arena A
• Arena A - FFA Tractor Rodeo at 8 p.m.
