A dear friend gave me these flowers to plant several years ago, and I think of her every year when they start to bloom.

BLOOMFIELD, MO (KFVS)- Crews have located a 9-year-old boy who went missing Tuesday afternoon near Bloomfield.

Colton Cornell was found safe about a mile from his home. Authorities found him unharmed near a creek behind Sonic in Bloomfield.

The boy was found about a mile from his home. He is OK.

Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner says the boy was walking along a creek behind the Sonic in Bloomfield.

Hefner says the boy had been missing since he got off the school bus on Tuesday. He says the boy went into the house, then went outside to play south of the Stars and Stripes museum south of Bloomfield.

Authorities estimate he traveled about 2.5 miles, following a creek that led to a friend's house. They say Cornell joined some friends from school and rode a three-wheeler. He then left to go back home a short time later.
