Teen arrested after high speed chase in Dexter

Dexter police arrested a 17-year-old teen Monday morning after leading police on a high speed car chase and foot chase.

Police say Zachary Truett of Dexter is now behind bars, arrested on ten different charges.

The chase started just before one o'clock Monday morning when police got a call that Truett was driving recklessly, close to McDonalds in Dexter.

When officers arrived, police say Truett sped down One Mile Road at some point going around 80 miles per hour.

At least three police cars chased Truett before he finally pulled over on Susan Street. Police say he then got out of his car and ran from officers.

According to police he didn't run far or for long. He was arrested at his home about an hour later.

Police say Truett hit a stop sign and utility pole during the chase, but no injuries were reported.

Truett faces charges of resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident among others.
